What the viewer does with your file

The CSV viewer opens a CSV file in your browser and shows it as a sortable table. You can search every row or a single column, keep only the columns you need, trim whitespace, drop empty rows and columns, then download the result as CSV or as an Excel .xlsx file.

Privacy. The file is parsed on your own device by the Papa Parse library and is never uploaded. The page loads Papa Parse and SheetJS (for the Excel export) from the jsDelivr CDN, but your data doesn't go anywhere, and closing the tab discards it.

What you see vs. what you download. The preview shows the first 200 rows so the page stays fast, but search and sort run over every row, and the downloads include every row that matches your current search and column selection, in the current sort order. Sorting compares numbers as numbers (so 9 comes before 10) and puts blank cells last. The delimiter can be auto-detected or set to comma, semicolon, tab or pipe, and you choose Windows (CRLF) or Unix (LF) line endings for the output.

When to use something else. The whole file is loaded into browser memory at once, so a file of hundreds of megabytes can make the tab slow or crash it. For files that big, command-line tools such as csvkit, xsv or DuckDB, or a few lines of Python, are the better choice. Excel sheets also top out at 1,048,576 rows, so a larger result is only useful as CSV.

// Common questions

Questions people actually ask

Is my CSV file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read and parsed in your browser, and filtering, sorting and exporting all happen on your device. Nothing is sent to the TronKits server.

How big a CSV file can I open?

It depends on your computer's memory, because the whole file is loaded into the browser at once. Files of tens of megabytes are usually fine; files of hundreds of megabytes may be slow or crash the tab.

Why does the preview only show 200 rows?

To keep the page responsive. Search and sort still run over every row, and the CSV and Excel downloads include all matching rows, not just the 200 on screen.

Can I convert a CSV file to Excel?

Yes. Load the CSV, optionally filter it, and click the XLSX button to download an Excel workbook with your current rows and columns.

My file uses semicolons instead of commas. Will it work?

Yes. Leave the delimiter on auto-detect or choose semicolon, tab or pipe explicitly. Semicolon-separated files are common in countries that use a comma as the decimal separator.

Can I remove columns I don't need?

Yes. Select the columns to keep in the Columns list (Ctrl or Shift-click for several), or tick Remove empty cols to drop columns with no data. The download contains only the columns you kept.
